Before and After Installing Delta Steam Traps
Переглядів 4866 років тому
This video shows the coal boiler hotwell tank vent before and after installing Delta Venturi Steam Traps. When the plant was running on conventional mechanical steam traps (before), the amount of live steam leaking through the traps and out the hotwell tank into the atmosphere was very high and extremely expensive. Once all the steam traps on the plant had been replaced with Delta Venturi Steam...
Delta DSV compared to a new free float steam trap
Переглядів 1,2 тис.7 років тому
In this test we compared a Delta DSV venturi steam trap to a brand new well known brand of free float steam trap. This comparative test clearly shows a good visual of the outlet conditions through both steam traps. Both traps can clearly be seen to be working well and discharging condensate with no steam loss, only flash steam occuring. The upside to the Delta steam trap is that it will not beg...
Delta venturi steam trap on steam test station with no load
Переглядів 1,5 тис.7 років тому
In this video we remove all condensate from in front of the Delta steam trap and simulate the Delta steam trap working under zero condensate load conditions. One question often asked about our steam traps is, do they leak steam when there is no condensate present? Firstly, there is virtually never a scenario in steam trapping where there is zero condensate present, even if it goes down to 10% c...
Delta Venturi steam trap with glass window in top cap
Переглядів 1,1 тис.7 років тому
We fitted a glass window to the top cap of our DSV model to show how the venturi steam trap works across varying loads. The results were spectacular in that they clearly show the trap constantly discharging at full load and then as the load drops off to almost nothing how it slows down and only flash steam is shown exiting the steam trap. The test was performed at the Delta Steam Systems Cape T...
Delta Venturi Steam Trap at Dairy Before and After
Переглядів 4017 років тому
This video demonstrates the effect of replacing conventional steam traps at a dairy with Delta Venturi steam traps and how there is an immediate and permanent reduction in pressure because of the elimination of the failed open (leaking) conventional mechanical steam traps on the site.
Delta steam trap on startup load
Переглядів 7247 років тому
Showing the Delta venturi steam trap from cold start up on a DN200 (8") steam mains drip leg. The Delta steam trap clears the pocket and gets up to temperature within one minute, clearly showing that it is capable of handling startup load and running load without any problems. Once at running load only flash steam is visible with no live steam loss. Delta Steam Traps carry a 20-year performance...

Delta Venturi Steam Trap on Steam Line
Переглядів 2,5 тис.8 років тому
In this video we are able to see how the Delta venturi steam trap, on a 10 bar (150 psi) steam line drip leg prior to insulation, is able to release condensate as it is formed and still restrict the steam when there is no condensate present. One can see the ball of the non-return valve in the sight glass lifts and releases the condensate as it is formed, and falls back into the closed position ...
Delta DSV Venturi Steam Trap Comparative Test
Переглядів 1,1 тис.10 років тому
Derek Cressy of Steam & Process, New Zealand (www.steamandprocess.co.nz), shows how well the the Delta DSV model steam trap works compared to a Spirax Sarco TD trap. It can be clearly seen how the TD trap passes live steam along with condensate as it cycles. The Delta trap is only passing condensate accompanied by a small cloud of flash steam on a continual basis. Note also how the TD trap, eve...

Before & After Converting to Delta Venturi Orifice Steam Traps
Переглядів 1,1 тис.12 років тому
A large textile plant approached us looking for ways to reduce their boiler fuel costs. After an initial assessment we proposed that converting to the Delta Venturi Orifice Steam Trapping System would be one of the quickest ways to achieve savings. Initially the condensate return hotwell tank in the boiler house was measuring 100 degrees Celsius and was clearly boiling. After replacing all the ...

In dry cleaning we use bucket traps. Would your trap work in our application better than bucket traps? Very interesting.
Could you also test it for varying loads and compare the performance of both traps? How can we also test and survey venturi steam traps to ensure the reliability of the traps?
What happens if it is installed in inverted or vertical position?
Because it works using differential pressure it can be installed in any position, inverted or vertical. It is always recommended to install a non-return valve after any steam trap, and we recommend the same with ours.
Delta Steam Systems actually I want to install it them over rotating pipes (10-15 rpm) so won't be any problem?
so which one is better to use
joseph coffman the second one. It was about 80% more efficient and had more condensate release and higher steam retention.
How did you come up with that 80%?
